The Babs brings her vinyl, CDs, and mp3s to Luv247 tonight at 247 Eldridge. I’ll be there in my skinny jeans right at 10 p.m. until her set ends just past midnight, at which point I’m heading over to Emmy B’s thirtieth birthday party at Good World.

In my continuing efforts to confuse more people regarding whether or not I’m a tranny, I’m now taking my Lasikked eyeballs back into mascara-world, a place I dare not tread when I was a wearer-of-contacts.
However, unlike Rachel, who, when she’s not reading Cat Fancy is devouring Allure, I know next to nussing about makeup.
Do any of you have mascara recommendations? Money’s not really a deciding factor here, since I wear it rarely and will simply amortize the cost across the four years I anticipate using a tube. (Is that what they call the thing mascara comes in?) I stopped trying to wear the stuff because flecks always got into my eyeballs. I want something easy to apply that won’t run when I cry, which I do often, especially in public.
Also, where should I get that torturous looking device a.k.a. an eyelash curler? (I saw one on the sidewalk in Aruba when I went for a run, and am proud to report I had zero inclination to pick it up.)

Anyone know what the Connecticut stolen property statute of limitations is? I might know someone who may need to return some dormitory furnishings to a certain undergraduate institution.
On a somewhat related note, I read an article about a woman who is pursuing the prosecution of her rapist after he apologized to her while working the steps.
Having been a “fully” “conscious” “alleged” “victim” of a “sexual” assault, I read this and wondered what good she was bringing to herself, psychologically, to cling to her victimhood. I mean, I don’t know, after a while, isn’t it healthier to simply let go and unburden yourself from the hurt, the pain, the view-of-self-as-victim?
Outdated feelings: chuck ‘em.
Stolen goods: return ‘em. (Unless, of course, doing so will result in jail time.)
Will I have to go (back) to jail if I return things I borrowed without permission last century?

- For the most part, everyone speaks English fairly well
- Your greenbacks are warmly welcomed everywhere
- Ramen is ultra-cheap at the local super-market
- New York cable channels free for the surfing in your hotel room
- Waiters blush when you rub their nipples
Am I talking about the island of Manhattan or the island of Aruba in the above bullets? Both. But Aruba has little differences:
- Ritz crackers? Nada. Look for Fita crackers in the ‘Philippines’ sxn of the market.
- Vegetables? Nice try. Better join the silver foxes in the line for the prunes at the salad bar.
- St. Patrick’s Day? We noticed only one local (named Patrick) rockin’ out for March 17.
- Sexo en la Ciudad on the Cosmopolitan channel.
We were fortunate enough to be in town for Aruba Day, a spectacular, fireworks-for-natives-only celebration of Aruban history et cetera.
Save the date: March 18, 2008.
I’m makin’ Aruba cake and hunting down a domestic distributor of Balashi. To keep it real, maybe I’ll crank the heat in the apartment and make y’all show up in swimsuits.
P.S. Priscilla: thanks to your recommendation I-don’t-remember-where, I bought the turquoise tank top in the above pic from those boys on Broadway. Thanks for the tip!

My Aruba companion is on my cell right now telling me that she almost got shot in this. She ran her ass straight home and now we are on the phone.

- Turn white noise machine back on and put in prominent “don’t forget to take this” place
- Git into bed
- Set cell phone alarm for 5:15 a.m. (just in case Carmel doesn’t call at 5)
- Get my sleep on
Snap from this a.m.: Preparing for the last day in the office
